Work shifts ending at 6 AM? Fix overnight shift times in your calendar
Your schedule app shows a closing shift as 5:00 PM to 6:00 AM, so your whole next morning looks booked.
Why it happens
Many restaurant, bar and retail scheduling apps let managers leave a closing shift open-ended. These are often marked "BD" (business decides) or "close". When the app publishes your calendar feed it still needs an end time, so it fills in a placeholder, often early the next morning. Your calendar then shows a 13-hour shift that runs into tomorrow and blocks the next day.
How to fix it once for every shift
- Add your work calendar to Calendar Corrector: pick it from the list, or paste the calendar link from your scheduling app.
- The app spots the pattern and offers: "27 shifts end at 6am the next day. End them at 11:30pm instead?" Tap Fix.
- Choose the time your shifts really end. Every future closing shift is corrected as it arrives.
Shifts that genuinely run past midnight, like 6 PM to 2 AM, stay as they are. Only the placeholder ends are changed.
Two jobs? Tidy the titles too
If every title starts with your own name ("Alex Morgan · Bartender"), Calendar Corrector offers to remove it. You can also put the job name first, like "Bistro · Bartender 5pm–11:30pm", so two jobs never blur together.
Try it with our sample schedule: work.ics.
Calendar Corrector does this for you on iPhone, iPad and Mac. It’s coming soon to the App Store; your first calendar will be free. Learn more
